Chapters of History

Hegel divides "The Modern Time" into three chapters of history. He begins the modern time with the Reformation, then moves on to the influence of the Reformation on political development, and finally talks about the Eclaircissement and Revolution. It seems that his concept of modernity thus revolves around the Reformation. Are we in agreement on this? What is the importance of approaching the philosophy of history from this perspective?
